Start with a rough look, then spend your real attention on behaviour. A vague appearance is easy to sharpen later, but a character whose temperament and speech habits sit at defaults is hard to rescue because there is nothing distinctive to build on. In practice: two minutes on the visual pass, then move to the dials that decide what she says. You can always come back and refine the look once you know who she is.

More than its label suggests. A preset sets starting values across every dial at once, and characters begun from the same preset stay recognisably related unless you move several settings a long way from where they started. Treat it as a first draft rather than a category. The useful habit is to change at least two settings deliberately before you send the first message, so the character is yours rather than the preset's.

It changes things, but indirectly. Backstory does not alter her tone the way temperament does; it supplies the specifics she reaches for when a conversation needs a concrete detail. A character with a few grounded facts about her life gives different answers to ordinary questions than one with a blank history. Keep it short and specific — a handful of concrete details outperforms a long paragraph of adjectives.

Three prompts. Greet her and read the opening register — that is your speech-habit check. Disagree with something she says and watch whether she folds, holds her position or escalates, which tells you whether boldness is set where you wanted it. Then leave a beat of silence and see whether she rushes to fill it. Between them, those three moves expose almost every mis-set dial in about two minutes.

Edit, in nearly every case. A character who feels slightly off is usually one setting away from right, and rebuilding discards the parts that were already working along with the part that was not. Change one setting per pass so the difference is attributable. Starting over only makes sense when the underlying concept was wrong, not when the execution needs a correction.

Because novelty carried the first day and the settings had to carry the rest. This pattern almost always means the behavioural layer is near its midpoint: nothing is pulling the character away from a polite, general register, so once the newness fades there is little left that is specifically hers. Push a temperament level well off centre, tighten the speech habits, and the difference shows immediately.

No, and the builder is not designed for it. Characters are assembled from design settings rather than from anyone's likeness, and depictions of real, identifiable people are out of scope. Nothing here works from a photograph of a real individual. Every character on the platform is fictional and AI-generated, which is also the whole reason the design controls exist: you are inventing someone, not reproducing them.

The platform is an adult service and results are suggestive rather than explicit, with content limits applied throughout. The design tools are aimed at character and style — appearance, wardrobe register, personality and voice — not at explicit depiction. If your interest is purely in extreme content rather than in building a character, this is not the tool that will suit you.

The builder itself is fully open on the free tier, which is the part that matters when you are deciding whether the design model suits you. The limits sit around it: how many saved characters you can keep at once, how much long-term memory a character carries, and image resolution. Iterating properly means keeping two or three versions side by side, and that is usually where the free plan starts to feel tight.
